A copyright owner or authorized agent may send a copyright complaint identifying the copyrighted work; the allegedly infringing material or account activity sufficient for VMS to locate it; complainant contact information; a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized; a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and the sender is authorized; and a physical or electronic signature.

The U.S. Copyright Office designated-agent registration has not yet been completed. VMS does not represent that it is currently listed in the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA directory.

If VMS removes or disables material in response to a DMCA notice and a formal counter-notice process applies, the counter-notice should identify the removed material and former location, include the sender’s name, address, telephone number and signature, state under penalty of perjury that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification, and include jurisdiction and service-of-process statements required by 17 U.S.C. §512. VMS will follow the applicable statutory process after counsel review and any required agent registration.

VMS may terminate repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances and may also act on serious infringement, fraudulent notices, material misrepresentation, or repeated attempts to evade rights controls.
